Our History

The Winding River Players was founded in 2003 by Sue MacCallum and a small group of talented friends in Winding River Plantation.  The Players has grown to over 40 members who share a love of the theatre and a desire to spread this love to others through the performing arts and educational projects.

In 2005 they became a non-profit organization with a mission to create a sense of community spirit among Winding River Plantation neighbors and throughout the state by entertaining and sharing their talents at charitable events, hospitals, assisted living and retirement communities.

The Winding River Players are very honored to host “Carolina Revue” for the January 28, 2007 Benefit at Southport Community Center on behalf of  The Providence Home.

Sue MacCallum has gathered together performers for the “Revue” from almost every theatre group in Brunswick County, including outstanding individual performers ~ A FIRST to have all this talent in one venue at the same time!
